Volunteer with us
‘It’s great fun and lovely to see the people on the courses so engrossed in making their brilliant art – very rewarding’ – Dareth, Artlift volunteer
Volunteer roles
Artlift’s Volunteer Scheme was launched in 2021. We now have a dedicated team of individuals who play a vital role in making a difference to the health and wellbeing of our participants.
At present we are looking for dedicated Volunteer Artist Facilitator Assistants – for Cirencester and Cheltenham in particular.
Here are some examples of the different roles volunteers help us with:
- Assistant Facilitator: supporting our artists in delivering sessions in cultural and community venues
- Assistant to the administrative team: support with fundraising, marketing, community engagement and research.
What we offer in return
- Personal reward in providing uplifting support to people living with health challenges
- A Volunteer Manager who will work with you to set progression goals if you wish, supported by access to team sharing of practice and training sessions
- Hands-on experience supporting your career or personal goals in Creative Health practice and/or invaluable Charity development skills such as marketing, fundraising and administration.
- Where appropriate, opportunities to attend meetings and events, expanding your social and/or career development networks. Click here to find out more about our partners.
- A reference for prospective employers or university where needed
- Reimbursed out of pocket expenses
Equity and Diversity
We actively encourage people from a variety of backgrounds with different experiences, skills and stories to join us and influence and develop our working practice. By taking positive action around diversity (as permitted in the Equality Act 2010), we will guarantee interviews to eligible candidates who meet the minimum criteria (the Person Specifications laid out in the Volunteer Application Pack) and self-identify with any of the following groups that we have identified as underrepresented in ours and the wider Creative Health sector workforce:
- Volunteers from Black, Asian and minoritised ethnic backgrounds
- Volunteers with disabilities
- LGBTIA+ volunteers
- Young people 18 – 30 years old
- Experts by Experience in mental health, chronic pain and/or cancer
