As we celebrate Volunteer Week, all of us at Artlift would like to extend a big heartfelt thank you to each of our incredible volunteers who gift their time, skills and experience to our charity.
We know that volunteering takes energy, and heart—and we’re continually bowled over by the generosity, kindness and commitment you bring to our community. In a small charity, capacity and budgets are always stretched. The time generously donated by our volunteers takes pressure off our administrative and Artist Facilitator team.
Without the support of our volunteers, Artlift would quite simply not be able to function as safely and effectively. Thanks to you, our participants experience greater confidence, connection, and joy, and many share how life-changing their time with Artlift has been.
Since the launch of our Volunteer scheme, it’s been fantastic to see how our volunteers’ confidence has grown, some going on to other paid roles, supporting us as co-producers and/or developing their artistic or career prospects beyond Artlift. Our diverse group of volunteers supporting Artlift courses play a huge role in ensuring a warm welcome, putting new participants at ease, supporting access requirements, and making sure that boring but vitally important paperwork gets done! Many of our volunteers are Experts by Experience, bringing great empathy and sensitivity to their role. Those who volunteer at a more strategic level – our Trustees – gift their time, work expertise and lived experience to ensure Artlift is well Governed and heading in the right strategic direction! Their support through the challenges and in celebrating the successes is hugely appreciated.
Whether you’re helping to welcome participants, supporting our artists, assisting behind the scenes, ensuring the charity is governed effectively, or spreading the word about our work, you play a vital role in making Artlift a wonderful, inspiring space for people across Gloucestershire.
Whilst this week is a special moment to recognise your contributions, know that your impact is felt every day. Thank you for being a part of our journey, and for helping us to create a world where creativity is accessible to all.
