A sad farewell to Annie Gotts

It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Flourish Magazine Steering Group member Annie Gotts. The world is a less bright place now that she is no longer with us.

We first had the privilege of meeting Annie when she joined one of Artlift’s Flourish Arts on Prescription groups for people living with and beyond cancer.

Susie Walker, the Artist Facilitator, recalls:

“everyone looked to Annie for her positive attitude, endless creative ideas and generous spirit. She brought a lightness and humour to the group, always coming up with new ideas and contributing to the Facebook page regularly”.

Annie’s belief in, and commitment to, the power of creative activities in living a fulfilling life with and beyond cancer, kept her close to Artlift. She ensured that the former Flourish group continued to meet up after the Artlift course was finished, both online and face to face when possible.

Annie then went on to contribute whole heartedly as a Flourish Magazine Steering Group member, bringing a wide range of experience and a great sense of fun. In 2022, she also represented Artlift at the London conference of Flourish partner and integrative cancer care charity Yes to Life.

Flourish Magazine Editor Natalie Beech said:

“Annie was such an inspiration to so many of our readers and will be sorely missed. Between her incredible artistic contributions to the magazine and her brilliant ideas and feedback in the steering group, Annie was such a vital part of Flourish Magazine and we are devastated to hear the news of her passing.

“We hope to continue the hard work and inspiration that she brought to Flourish in our future work, which would not be possible without her!”
